Maryanne Passafiume March 09th, 2012 HURON - Maryanne Passafiume 70, of Huron died March 9th, 2012, in Sandusky, at Stein Hospice Care Center. She was born May 29th 1941 in Fowler Ohio; she was the daughter of the late Victor and Mary (Henry) Kruppa. Maryanne moved to this area after receiving a degree in journalism from Ohio University in the early 1960's to start her passion for writing. She worked for numerous papers, but enjoyed much success as a feature writer for the Lorain Journal. She interviewed many local celebrities but her favorite was when she interviewed jazz legend Louis Armstrong. She also worked for John Hancock Insurance as an insurance agent where she met many great friends. She enjoyed reading, usually a book a week, writing, and fishing, but most importantly, bingo and casino trips with family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years Joseph Passafiume of Huron; her son and daughter in Iaw Michael and Cynthia Passafiume of Columbus; her son, Samuel and Cathy (Palmer) Passafiume of Vermilion; 3 grandchildren, Sammy Passafiume of Medina, and Joseph and Victoria Passafiume of Columbus; two brothers Victor Kruppa and William Kruppa, both of Warren; and a lifelong friend, Dee Dauch of Huron. Maryanne was preceded in death by her brother and sister in-Iaw Pete and Joy Kruppa of Warren; a sister in law Rose Kruppa of Warren; and sister in law Betty Kruppa of Warren. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home and Crematory, 410 Main Street, Huron, where services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with Father Jeffery Sikorski, pastor of St. Peter Church, Huron, officiating.
