Phillip J. Harris, 83, of Huron, Ohio, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 14th, at Firelands Regional Medical Center. Born on May 11, 1940, in Ashland, Ohio, to James and Merylen Harris, Phil was a graduate of Huron High School in 1958, where he met his beloved wife, Tamara Martin. They were later married on September 17th, 1960.
Phil dedicated many years of service to ABF before retiring. He found joy in activities like spending time out on the lake, biking, and scootering around town. For the past six decades, Phil called Rye Beach his home. Known for his ever-present cigar and his habit of feeding the local ducks and squirrels, he was a cherished member of the community and a proud member of the Lake Erie #2075 Huron Eagles.
He leaves behind his sister, Karen (Tom) Grande of Cerritos, CA; grandchildren, Jennifer (Bryan) Norton of Huron, Jessica (Aaron) Fandrich of Bellevue, Katie Harris of Huron, Kendall (Jack) Harris of Sandusky, and Thomas Hahn of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Cam, Sophie, Colt, Avery, and Cali; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
Phil was preceded in death by his loving wife, parents, son, Phil Harris, daughter, Thea Harris, and his beloved dog, Sox.
In accordance with his wishes, Phil will be cremated. A celebration of his life will take place on Friday, March 22nd, at 3 pm at the Huron Eagles, 2902 Cleveland Rd. W., Huron 44839.
