Curtis Leasher Obituary

Curtis M. Leasher, 79, of Huron, passed away on April 2, 2024. He was born on May 15, 1944, in Versailles, Pennsylvania to Ralph E. and Mary M. Leasher.

Curt graduated from McKeesport High School in 1962 and then attended The Pennsylvania State University where he earned a B.S. from the School of Marketing in the College of Business Administration in 1966.

After gaining experience in the menswear field during his school years, Curt spent 14 years in retail management with the JCPenney Company. His last position was that of being the General Merchandise Manager of the Sandusky Mall store, responsible for merchandising and sales promotion. His previous assignments included:  Zanesville, Ohio; Uniontown, Pennsylvania; Staunton, Virginia; and McKeesport, Pennsylvania. He also spent several seasons working security at Cedar Point in the Hotel Breakers. He obtained schooling in financial planning and earned both SEC and life insurance licenses to practice. In 1981, Curt chose to become self-employed and remained so until his retirement in 2015.

Curt was a graduate with honors of the US Army Medical Training Center at Fort Sam in Houston, Texas, and also completed Non-Commissioned Officer Training School while there. After his medical training, Curt was assigned to the US Army Reserve as a medical corpsman and ambulance driver. Later, he was selected to be the aide to the Brigade Surgeon in the Virginia National Guard. Finally, as a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard, he achieved the position of Clinical Specialist, earning the rank of Specialist Fifth Class.

Known to many old "CB'ers" as "Bull", he enjoyed model railroading, repurposing, DIY projects, and especially landscape architecture projects. Curt was a proud life member of The Penn State Alumni Association. He also belonged to the National Rifle Association and the Republican National Committee. In addition to several children's and animal charities, he was a long-time supporter of many military and law enforcement organizations and a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Huron.

Curt is survived by his children, Kenneth of Ocala, Florida; Ryan (Jessica Forsythe) of Redmond, Washington; and Megan (Steve Oss) of Newport, Kentucky. He is also survived by many four-legged friends and, unfortunately, preceded in death by many more.

In addition to his parents, Curt was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Ralph E. Jr. (A. Grace), and his sister and brother-in-law, Carol Ann Myers (C. Eugene).

At Curt's request, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to St. Peter School or any animal support organization.
