HURON - William E. “Bill” Kaman Sr, 96, of Huron, passed away Wednesday evening, January 15, 2020 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky.
He was born January 16, 1923 in Sandusky. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and in 1941, graduated from Sandusky High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served honorable during World War II. At the end of the war and upon his separation from the Navy, Bill moved to Huron and worked in the family business, Kaman’s Nite Club, Sandusky, until his retirement. After his retirement, he became an accomplished ballroom dancer, loved his horses, and riding his tractor.
Bill was a member of the American Legion Post #83, Fraternal Order of the Eagles #2875, VFW Post 1079, Elyria, AMVETS Post #17, and St. Peter Catholic Church, Huron.
He is survived by his wife, Rosalie Kaman; his brother, Richard Kaman; children, Charlene (Steve) Baron, Cheryl (John) Zimmerman, JoAnne Duncan, Julie Dively, Patricia (David) Braeunig, Jack Kaman, Anthony (Dinah) Kaman, Theresa Witt, and Charles (Cindy) Kaman; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 4 step-daughters, Linda (Larry) Tokar, Angela (Bob) Wick, Elizabeth Miller, and Barbara Wells; and 8 step-grandchildren; and 12 step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by two sons, Robert Kaman, and William Kaman; former wife, Rosemary Andres; father, William V. Kaman; mother, Blanche Kaman; brothers, Eugene Kaman and Thomas Kaman; and sisters, Ruth Sellers and Lois Yost.
Friends may call Monday, January 20th from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main Street, Huron. Funeral mass will be Tuesday, January 21st at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main Street, Huron, with Father Jeffrey McBeth, officiating.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
