Wendi Lee Boyes, born January 30, 1946, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Fort Madison, Iowa, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, care, and service.
Wendi was preceded in death by her mother, Helen (Peters Presho) Grimwood; father, John Presho; grandparents Fred Presho and Hazel (Meyer) Presho; sister, Cosette Klecka; and brothers, Steven Grimwood and Ronald Grimwood.
She is survived by her nephews: Kris Klecka, Kevin Klecka, and Justin Grimwood; her dear friend, Linda Howell; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; goddaughters; and many cherished friends and families for whom she lovingly babysat over the years.
A 1964 graduate of Sandusky High School, Wendi devoted her life to caring for others in many capacities. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Memorial Hospital and later attended cosmetology school in Columbus, becoming a licensed cosmetologist and instructor for many years. Her professional path also included working as a waitress at the Sandusky Yacht Club and as a teacher’s aide at Betty Rinderle School in Erie County until the program's closure in 1993.
For many years, Wendi provided childcare to neighborhood families and was a beloved presence in the community. A longtime resident of Huron, Ohio, she was active in her faith and attended both Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and Huron United Methodist Church.
A Celebration of Life and time of fellowship will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Sandusky Life Church, 1135 Warren Street, Sandusky, Ohio 44870. A light dinner featuring Greek-themed foods will be provided.
