Wayde Scott Lafferty

Vermilion- Wayde Scott Lafferty, 55, passed away unexpectedly on November 16, 2021. 

Wayde was born in Amherst, Ohio to parents Virgil James and Judy (Samons) Lafferty. He spent most of his younger years in Key West, Florida and graduated from Key West High School. While in the Keys, he was a captain of a boat and was a lobster fisherman. 

Wayde loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He had a passion for his work as a mason and was very gifted with his hands. He also loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his mother, Judy (Samons) Lafferty; wife, Mary (Kelm) Lafferty; two boys,  Anthony (Savanna) Lafferty and Wyatt Virgil Lafferty; brother, Virgil J. Lafferty; brother in-law, Art (Lorie) Kelm; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Virgil “Bud” James Lafferty.

A memorial service will be held on December 11, 2021 at Amvets Post 22, 1517 State Rt. 60, Vermilion, 44089. 1pm-4pm.
