HURON – Sheila P. Ehrhardt, 79, of Huron, passed away Monday, September 7, 2020 in Strongsville after an extended illness.
Sheila was born Oct 19, 1940 on Kelleys Island and was raised in Sandusky and lived in Huron for 60 years.
She graduated from St. Mary’s Central Catholic School and graduated from Santa Barbara City College.
She worked for the Santa Barbara News Press as a feature writer; she worked at NASA Plum Brook as a secretary for the wind tunnel testing; worked as an editor for the Huron Reporter, and was a feature writer at the Sandusky Register for 15 years. She was the Director of the Huron Chamber of Commerce for 5 years and organized the Chamber Golf Outings, active on the committee of the Huron Playhouse, board member of Cancer Services, Sandusky, and was involved with the Festival of Lights, Huron. She owned and operated The Alpaca Barnyard at her home in Huron. She was a licensed minister and performed several local weddings.
She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda (John) Funderwhite of Brunswick, OH; 3 grandchildren, Eric (Paola), Katelin, and Stephen Funderwhite; a great-grandson, Parker Baskerville; her extended Ehrhardt family in AZ, and the Gockstetter family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Ehrhardt, 2015; and brother, Michael Stanley.
Friends may call Saturday, September 12th from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main Street, Huron.
Cremation will take place and her ashes will be buried at Kelleys Island at a later date.
