Samuel J. Jeremay, Sr., 73, of Huron, died peacefully in his home on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, surrounded by family.
Sam was born to Floyd and Dorothy (Lynn) Jeremay on November 26, 1948. He was the third of 8 children. He attended Huron High School, and married his high school sweetheart, Betty Reynolds, in 1968. He was a master mechanic and could fix, or tear apart and rebuild, anything you put in front of him. He worked for years at Sandusky Foundry and ended his career at Glidden ICI Paints where he was recognized for creating an innovative fill-head used during processing. He was a member of the Huron Eagles. He enjoyed farming when not at work, and his favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing and building computers.
Sam is survived by his wife, Betty, of 53 years; daughter, Samantha; son, Samuel Jr.; daughter-in-law, Amy; granddaughter, Katie; and grandsons, Jace and Caleb. He also leaves behind four brothers, Floyd, Andy (Sandy), Tim (Deb), and Jack; two sisters, Mary (Don) Jennings and Dorothy Castle; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lois Saxton, Barb Moore, Tom (Peg) Reynolds, Jim (Marty) Reynolds, and Tena Greenwell; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Stan Trojan; his in-laws, Melvin and Shirley Reynolds; brother, Jim; sister-in-law, Mary; and brothers-in-law, Norm, Denny, and Dennis.
There will be a small burial service at North Monroeville Cemetery on Route 99 on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 1:00 pm. Family and friends are also welcome to come to a celebration of life that will follow at The Milan Wine Post, 1 N. Main Street, Milan, Ohio, anytime until 3:30 pm.
