Rottie Payne

Rottie Payne, age 73, of Huron, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025.

A lifelong resident of Huron, Rottie was a proud graduate of Huron High School, Class of 1970. He served his country honorably in the Ohio National Guard for seven years and went on to enjoy a 31-year career at the Ford Motor Company before his well-earned retirement.

Rottie lived a life full of energy, generosity, and devotion to his family. He had a deep love for the outdoors—whether it was riding his motorcycle, spending time in the yard, or enjoying weekend cookouts. He was a sports enthusiast who especially loved golf, and he never missed a chance to cheer on his favorite teams. Above all, Rottie found his greatest joy in time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a deeply involved father who supported his sons every step of the way and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. To know Rottie was to know a good man—one who would do anything for his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Vicki Payne of 46 years; his sons, Derek (Alexa) Payne and Kevin (Karri) Payne; and his cherished grandsons, Brooks and Bryce. He is also survived by his siblings Ella (Dallas) Bennett, Sheila (Allen) Pentecost, Diane (Mike) Shinski, and Lonnie (Terry) Payne and numerous family members.

Rottie was preceded in death by his parents, James and Arita Payne; his sister, Betty Allen; and his brothers, Jerell and Leon Payne an daughter Jennifer Payne.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Foster Funeral Home & Crematory in Huron, Ohio is assisting the family.
