Bob “Pokey” Spishak
January 29, 1960 – March 31, 2026
Bob “Pokey” Spishak, a man known for his kindness, loyalty, and love of cars, passed away surrounded by loved ones.
Bob shared 33 years of marriage with his wife, Barb. He was a proud father and grandfather, and nothing meant more to him than his family (other than the race cars)—Hope Spishak (Josh), Kristy Gorby (Tejay), and Robert McKain (Meeghin), as well as his grandchildren: Zander, Temperance, Ellie, Gavin, Remi, and Sawyer.
He is also survived by his brother, Ray Spishak (Darlene), along with nieces and nephews, and his father’s wife, Gael. He was preceded in death by his parents, Georgette and Bob, and his best friend—his “brother from another mother,” George Lampshire.
Bob built lifelong friendships and was part of the Island crew, including Gene, Mike, Renzo, Dave, Tom, Cindy, and Bobbie—friends who became family.
From a young age, Bob had a passion for cars that never faded. He loved working on project cars and drag racing, with a special place in his heart for Pontiac Firebirds and Dodge Rampage.
He also found joy in his pets—his cats Mister, LS, and “the boys,” and his dogs Lucy and Skynard.
Bob will be remembered for always showing up for others, his willingness to help anyone, and the genuine friendships he built along the way.
A celebration of life was held prior to his passing, allowing Bob the opportunity to be surrounded by those he loved—something he truly cherished. In accordance with his wishes, no additional services will be held.
As Bob would say, “Don’t move another man’s cones”—a lesson he stood by, and one that, thankfully, keeps the cones safe now.
His legacy lives on in the family he loved and the many lives he touched.
