Priscilla R. (Packer) Auble

HURON – Priscilla R. Auble, 93, of Huron, passed away Monday, March 14, 2022 at her residence.  She was born Oct. 3, 1928, in Groton, Connecticut. She graduated from Fitch High School in 1946 then started her career as a legal secretary. Priscilla met her future husband Aaron Auble, who was stationed locally with the Coast Guard at a dance social. Aaron’s persistence eventually won her heart and after marrying in 1951 they moved to Cleveland, Ohio. Priscilla continued her career with a Cleveland law firm but left to dedicate the next 35 years to raising 8 children. After nearly ten years in Cleveland, they built a home on a ½ acre lot carved out of a soybean field in Huron, Ohio. Priscilla re-started her career in 1978 with the Sandusky law firm of Geisler, Geisler & Muehlhauser until she retired in 2000.   During these years Priscilla was an active member of the First Presbyterian church in Huron where she organized a bi-annual rummage sale and sang in the choir. She also took great pride in her work as a poll volunteer for every election. Priscilla enjoyed card club with her friends, reading, gardening and above all, being with her family.

Survivors include her children Marc Auble of Apex, NC, Wayne Auble (Linda) of Hillsboro, OR, Jan Battiste (Bob) of Huron, OH, Carol Lally (Kevin) of Plano, TX, John Auble (Dale) of Yarmouth, ME, Matt Auble (Kathy) of Brecksville, OH, Susan Bartyzal (Doug) of Bloomington, MN; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Aaron, son William, daughter Jodi, parents Ray and Priscilla Packer, brothers Will, Ray, Melvin, and sister June Starling.

There will be a celebration of life this summer in Huron, OH.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 225 Williams St., Huron, and the Humane Society of Erie County, 1911 Superior St., Sandusky, OH.
