Peggy Breay Obituary

Born on November 30, 1936, in Bloomville, she lived a life centered around family, faith, hard work, and community. She married the love of her life, Leslie Breay, in 1956, and together they built a wonderful life filled with family traditions, laughter, and lasting memories.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Tillie Bean; her beloved husband, Leslie Breay; son-in-law Kenneth Skiles; and great-granddaughter Bailey Breay.

She is survived by her children, Terri (Paul) Blake, Becky (Kenny) Skiles, and Michael (Beth) Breay; grandchildren Phillip Jones, Ben (Maryl) Breay, Olivia Cornell (Joey Cornell), and Noah Breay; and great-grandson Bowen Breay.

A 1954 graduate of Huron High School, she later attended Oberlin Business College. Throughout her life, she held many roles and was known for her strong work ethic and caring spirit. She worked as a bookkeeper for her father’s business, co-owner of Breay’s Carry Out, census taker, playground attendant at Shawnee School, secretary for Century 21, title clerk for Artino Ford, receptionist for H&R Block, and caregiver for her mother and many others over the years.

She devoted much of her life to serving others and being involved in her community. She was a Girl Scout leader for 25 years, an Ohio State Indoor Archery Champion, and a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she also sang in the choir for 25 years. She enjoyed bocce, Dance USA, women’s card club gatherings, church dinners, community feeds through Helping Hands, camping trips, backyard campfires, time spent at the family cabin, and wintering in Florida.

She was especially known for her love of dancing, her beautiful garden, and the joy she found in spending time with her grandchildren and family. Her warmth, kindness, and dedication to those she loved will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or Hospice of the Western Reserve (Stein Hospice).
