Patricia A. Everett, 85, of Huron, passed away on January 9, 2024, at Firelands Regional Medical Center. Born on September 11, 1938, in Sandusky, Ohio, Patricia's life was a testament to love, faith, and commitment to education.
Pat graduated from Huron High School and received a BS in Education from Bowling Green State University. She also attended Marygrove College in Michigan and The Ohio State University. Her dedication to learning laid the foundation for a career that would touch the lives of many.
Patricia's impact on the community was felt deeply through her role as a teacher at Shawnee School, where her passion for education left an indelible mark on generations of students. Beyond the classroom, she served as the director of Safety Town, contributing to the well-being and safety education of countless children.
In the 1970s, Patricia initiated CCD classes at St. Peter’s, showcasing her commitment to nurturing the spiritual growth of the community's youth. A devoted member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Huron and the Huron Eagles, Patricia's faith and sense of community were central to her life.
Known for her boundless love for children, family, and her faith, Patricia was a beacon of positivity and encouragement. Her selflessness and support for others, often placing their needs before her own, endeared her to the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Patricia is survived by her loving son, Eric Everett, and her sister, Rosemary Wier, who will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary Everett; her parents, Pat and Lucille (Temper) Macioce; and her brothers, Lawrence and Richard Macioce.
In honor of Patricia's life, a Mass will be held in her name at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main St., Huron 44839, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105, or Huron Public Library, 333 Williams St., Huron 44839.
