HURON – Nancy Carole Ruffing, 83, of Huron, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019 after an extended illness surrounded by her family at Providence Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born Feb 25, 1936 in Cleveland and lived in Huron most of her life. She graduated from Huron High School in 1954. She worked at Citizens Bank Sandusky and Reynolds Appraisal Service for many years.
Nancy was a gentle, loving, giving person. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Huron. She enjoyed reading, performing in Harlequins Theater plays, friendships, and most of all, time spent with her children and grandchildren.”
She is survived by two daughters, Stephanie (Joe) Fratoe of Huron and Jessica (Kurt) Schafer of Huron; two sons, Christopher and David Ruffing of Sarasota, FL; 9 grandchildren, Ryan, Nicole, Zach, Lauren, Tyler, Makenna, Parker, Jordan, and Lauren; a sister, Shirley Watrous of San Diego, Ca; 2 half-sisters, Karen Vlach and Sharon Orihill both of Cleveland, OH.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Ruffing in 1978; and parents Joseph and Augusta (Paulich) Steibly.
The family will receive friends on Monday, Nov 11th from 10 a.m. until time of service at noon at St. Peter Church, 430 Main St. Huron with Father Jeffery Sikorski officiating.
Burial will be in Scott Cemetery, Huron.
