Nancy Lee

Nancy L. Lee, lovingly known to many as “Big Nan,” passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, after an extended illness, surrounded by her family and an abundance of love.

Nancy was a devoted wife to Ralph Lee and a proud and loving mother to Andrew C. Sevenbergen, Douglas “JR” Armstrong, and Ashlie V. Armstrong. She was also a cherished mother-in-law to Daniel E. Moro.

She is survived by her brothers, Wilbur F. Schlette (Christen Schlette) and Steven C. Schlette. She was preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Schlette (1969), her mother, Barbara Schlette (2024), and her father, Wilbur Schlette (2004).

Nancy lived her life with a servant’s heart. She dedicated herself to caring for others in many ways throughout her life, including working as a teacher’s aide for students with disabilities and providing in-home healthcare for the elderly. Helping people was never just a job for Nancy — it was who she was.

She was passionate about sports and was a devoted superfan of the Cleveland Browns, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Cleveland Guardians. Rarely missing a game, Nancy cheered loudly and loyally through every season.

Nancy loved life, laughter, and being surrounded by people. You always knew when she entered a room. She arrived with a feisty presence, opinions to questions not yet asked, and a laugh that could reach every corner of the room. She loved a good party, treasured time with family and friends, and embraced every opportunity to travel and experience life. Spending time in Florida was especially close to her heart.

Above all, Nancy will be remembered for her fierce love, unforgettable personality, and the joy and energy she brought into the lives of everyone around her. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her dearly.

May she rest in a peace that she could never find on this earth.

A Mass will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main St., Huron, Ohio. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
