HURON – Matthew K. Schwartz, 58, of Huron, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on December 15, 2022.
He was born November 20,1964 in Toledo and then lived in Monroeville and then Huron.
He worked for Autogate, Inc. of Berlin Heights for 15 years.
Matt always loved snakes and reptiles and grew up hiking through the woods hunting snakes with his twin sister, Carla, in North-West OH and the shores of Lake Erie. He was a jack of all trades and a master of all, and could build and create absolutely anything.
His wife, Stacey, was the love of his life, best friend, and soulmate. Her love for him is immeasurable and unconditional, through thick and thin and snakes and dragons!
Snakes and reptiles became a life-long hobby of his, even breeding snakes and bearded dragons for a time. His daughter, Eryka, shared the same love for snakes and reptiles and they formed a unique unbreakable bond when he bought her first snake “Corny” when she was just 4 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Stacey (Heal) Schwartz, married Dec 30, 1999; daughters, Eryka (Jake Miller) Schwartz of Huron, and Haley (Olds) Shimer and Trevor Shimer of Bellevue; a son, Ryan Myers (Lauren Finely) of Holland, OH; 8 grandchildren; and a sister, Carla Ginter of AZ.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth R. and Mary A. (Obidowski) Schwartz; a son, Michael M. Myers; and a sister, Kathryn L. Schwartz.
A private family service will be held, and cremation will take place.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family or to N.A.M.I (National Alliance on Mental Health).
