Mary Ann (Bokoch) Gustovich

Mary Ann Gustovich, age 78, of Huron, OH passed away on May 21, 2023 surrounded by her family at University Hospital Seidman Cancer Center after battling cancer.  

Mary Ann was born on December 5,1944 to John and Marge Bokoch in Liberal, Kansas.  After Mary Ann graduated from Brooklyn High School in Brooklyn, OH, she went on to be a hair stylist. Later, she went to Kent State University and became a Cosmetology Teacher.  

Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Donald D Gustovich married on March 1, 1994; Children from her first marriage, Deanna (Mark) Flanick and Scott (Stephanie Burrow) Colarossi; Step-Grandchildren Niall (Britney) Flanick and Alannah (Gabe) Mascarella; Step Great-Grandchild Juliette Mascarella; Aunt: Ellen Szerensci; Sister-in-Law: Karen Bokoch; Sister: Darlene Dwyer. 

In 1994, Mary Ann became the Office Manager at Donald D Gustovich’s Orthodontic offices in Bellevue, Norwalk, and Port Clinton, OH until they retired in 2010. Mary Ann’s smile lit up a room. She spent her time playing golf, working out with a personal trainer, and enjoyed spending winters in sunny Florida. She especially enjoyed having a good time with her friends and will be fondly remembered for her excellent cooking and generosity. Mary Ann was proud of serving as the President of the Ladies 9-hole league at Plum Brook Country Club. As a Breast Cancer Survivor, she helped other breast cancer patients by leading a Breast Cancer fundraiser at Plum Brook Country Club that raised just under $50,000 and participated in Fashion Week to raise money for Breast Cancer research. 

In addition to being a caring wife and mother, Mary Ann Gustovich was a caring aunt, sister, step grandmother, step great grandmother, great aunt, cousin, and friend. Mary Ann was predeceased by her parents and brother, John Bokoch.  

Her family extends their deepest appreciation to the Surgery Oncology, Colorectal, Gynecological-Oncology, Rapid Response, Supportive Oncology, and Wound Care Teams at University Hospital Cleveland Medical Center, the dedicated doctors, nurses and staff of the surgical intensive care unit, and the nurses and aides of Seidman 6.  

Friends and family are invited to St. Peter Catholic Church located at 430 Main Street, Huron, OH Friday June 2, 2023, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for visitation. A memorial service will be held Saturday June 3, 2023, St. Peter Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with Father Jeff Sikorski officiating.
