Marjorie L. (Reese) Thaxton

HURON - Marjorie L. (Reese) Thaxton, 97, of Huron, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 28, 2020 at Admiral's Pointe Nursing & Rehab in Huron.

   She was born January 7, 1923 in Wayne, Ohio, the daughter of Helen R. (Lashaway) Reese.

   Marjorie married O. Derrald Thaxton October 9,1943.

   Marjorie was the oldest member of Huron United Methodist Church where she spent many hours in the church kitchen. She also enjoyed knitting her famous dishcloths, baking cakes and holiday pies, and

completing the toughest jigsaw puzzles to be found.

   Marjorie is survived by four of her children: Cherryl (Francis) Clark of Pensacola, Fl., Larry (Val Jean) Thaxton of Huron, Richard (Sandra) Thaxton of Huron, and Gregory (Suzanne) Thaxton of Avon Lake, Ohio.

She's also survived by one sister Beatrice (Reese) Sharp, 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

   Marjorie was preceded in death by a son Robert Derrald; her husband Derrald; her mother Helen; and the following six siblings; Kenneth Reese, Naomi (Reese) Brady, Clara Ellen (Reese) Harmon, Keith Reese, Donna (Reese) Merillat and Karrol Reese.

   A private burial service will be held with a Memorial Service planned in the future.
