Margaret “Peggy” Scott, went to heaven peacefully on Sunday, June 23rd, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Peggy is survived by her sister, Julia Mooney; children, Tricia (Ron) Miller, Maureen Kubicek, John (Jolita Myers) Keville, and Kate Keville; stepchildren, Mike (Kim) Scott, Ron Jr. (Jill) Scott, and Darlene Scott; 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Peggy’s strength, character, and beauty live on through her family members, whom she loved with her whole heart.
Peggy was born on June 16th, 1932 in the village of Ballyglunin, Co. Galway, Ireland. She was very close to her 7 siblings, spending many hours together working on the family farm. While there was much work to do, she still made time to enjoy the lovely music and dancing of Ireland, and always carried this with her. She remained close to her siblings, even after bravely emigrating to the U.S. alone in 1951, where she started her job as a nanny on Long Island. Her desire to care for others led her to later become a nursing assistant on a labor and delivery unit, then a talented hair stylist, and later a massage therapist who healed many.
Peggy was passionate about her health and loved all forms of movement. She was a marathon runner and never slowed down, even completing the Cleveland Turkey Trot 5k in her 9th decade of life. She was also committed to her local exercise group at St. Peters church, and often amazed people with her strength and dedication to her health. She was an avid dancer and performed many recitals with her late husband, Ron, and the Erie County Senior Center. Peggy could lift the energy in any room, making you want to smile and put on your dancing shoes. She will be remembered for her impeccable style, contagious laugh, and Irish sass that brought laughter to all.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mary Ellen and John Duggan; her siblings, Kathleen, Johnny, Annie, Paddy, Eileen, and Maureen, all of Ireland; and her daughter, Karen.
A funeral service will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church in Huron on Friday, July 12th at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Peggy Scott.

“May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand” -Irish Blessing
