Margaret Emily Suarez

Margaret Emily Suarez, 79, of Sandusky, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025, at Parkvue Care Center after a courageous ten-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Margaret was born on April 6, 1946, in Decatur, Indiana, to the late Ned and Mary (Pocock) Cook. A gifted student, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio.

Throughout her life, Margaret had a passion for service and creativity. She worked for many years with the Girl Scouts of the USA and at Wileswood Country Store, where she was a purchasing agent alongside her best friend, Sue Cloak.

Margaret loved the outdoors and found joy in gardening, reading, canoeing, camping, hiking, and swimming. She was a talented watercolor artist and a skilled clarinetist, sharing her musical talents with both the North Coast Band and the Vacationland Band.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Jose Suarez of Sandusky; her beloved son, Joseph Suarez of Dublin, Ohio; her four cherished grandchildren; and her sister, Jeanie Child of Chicago, Illinois.

In keeping with Margaret’s wishes, there will be no visitation or formal service. Her husband and son will privately lay her to rest at a location of their choosing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Parkvue Care Center, 3800 Boardwalk Blvd, Sandusky, Ohio.
