HURON - Lori Ann (Franklin) Dawson, 62, of Huron, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Feb. 26, 2021, with her daughter, Paige, at her side. Lori was born Nov. 15, 1958, in Sandusky, Ohio. She was raised in Huron and was a 1977 graduate of Huron High School. She graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources. She attended University of San Diego and completed the Lawyer Assistance Program.

Lori held various jobs during her lifetime, but it was her 32-year career as a flight attendant with Continental Airlines, later United Airlines, by which she will be remembered. She was proud of her service and dedication to her profession in the airline industry.

Lori was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Huron and her strong belief in God was very important to her as was her love of family, especially her daughter, Paige. She was thankful to have her parents and “best brother Dean” living nearby.  Lori loved animals and especially her pet dogs and cats. She was committed to environmental issues and was a proud OSU Alumni Association member and OSU football supporter. She had a passion for travel and as part of her career, she was able to visit many countries around the world with Paris, France, being her favorite city to visit.

Lori is survived by her daughter, Paige Lori Dawson, of Huron; parents Lester and Kathleen Franklin of Huron; sister Linda (Michael) Makarewicz of Columbia, Mo.; brother Dean Franklin of Rocky River, Ohio; niece Kathleen (Dan) McCabe and their children, Hattie and Matthew of Riverside, Mo.; niece Megan (Robert Price) Makarewicz of St. Louis, Mo.; and nephew Philip (Laura) Makarewicz of Albuquerque, N.M.

She is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A private family service with burial will be held at Scott Union Cemetery in Huron. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
