HURON – Kenneth D. Wilford, 90, of Huron, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.
He was born January 5, 1930 in Ashtabula and was a longtime resident of Huron. He graduated from Huron High School.
The owner of Wilford Builders, he was a self-employed carpenter working in the Huron area for 50 years. He was a US Army veteran and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion, Sons of the American Revolution, served the Huron Community as Assistant Fire Chief and Firefighter for the Huron Fire Dept for 25 years. He was a member of the Huron Historical Society, the Classic Car Club, “Remember Cruisin”, and was a softball coach. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, genealogy, and scouting.
He is survived by his wife, Carol, of 61 years; daughters, Brenda (Ken) Haynes, Jodi Parron and spouse Craig Lewis, and Sandy Lowery; a son, Ken (James) Wilford; grandchildren, Chad and Derek Parron, Emily (Todd) Ery, Jerod, Joey, Avery and Livia Lowery; a great grandson, Cormac Ery; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Don and Ethel Wilford; a brother, Don Wilford; a grandson, Monty Haynes; and a nephew, John Brownell.
Private services will be held, and burial will be in Scott Cemetery, Huron.
