SANDUSKY - Keith A Washburn, 62, met his personal goal of meeting
Jesus in person on February 14, 2020.
He was born September 11, 1957 to Charles and Merriam (Wolcott) Washburn who preceeded him in death, and was raised on the family farm in Huron with his brothers.
A man of faith, Keith graduated from Huron High School in 1977.
His first job was at Schlessman Seed before moving to Lakewood where he worked at various manufacturing jobs for 20 years. He moved back to Huron in 2005 and built a home on the family homestead. Finally retiring from Sam’s Club in 2019.
He was a member of Church of the Nazarene since 2006 and supported many ministries and charitable organizations.
He had an inquisitive mind, always willing to take things apart to figure out how they worked.
He enjoyed going to festivals, fairs, and Cedar Point, sometimes accompanied by a representative of the Partners in Community program of MRDD.
His most prominent and important activity was going to church and Tuesday evening Bible study with his friends. They often helped him with projects and activities.
His greatest dream was fulfilled when he traveled to Israel in November 2018, to see where Jesus walked. It was there that he was authorized to bear the title of Jerusalem Pilgrim and was baptized at Yardenit, the Galilee baptismal site on the Jordan River.
Keith is survived by his brothers, David and wife June, Rolland and wife Pat, and his twin brother Karl and wife Kristi and several nieces and nephews, and his Aunt Nancy, of Wisconsin.
