Dublin, OH – June E. (Denton) Klein, 98, of Dublin, OH, former longtime resident of Huron, passed away, Wednesday, November 16, 2022.
She was born October 14, 1924 and was a graduate of The Ohio State University, earning a B.S. in Education. She taught pre-school for 45 years at Wee People Nursery School at Christ Episcopal Church, Huron.
A devout Christian Scientist, she still attended church at the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Columbus, Ohio. She met her husband of 71 years, Richard “Dick” Klein at an Ohio State – Michigan game. They married September of 1949. June was an avid gardener, piano player and photographer and loved to travel. She and Dick ventured to over 95 countries. Their last trip was to Iceland in 2019 while both in their 90’s.
June embodied that idea of absolute selfless love and devotion every day of her life to her children and grandchildren. She extended that same love and kindness to friends and community. A life well lived.
She is survived by her daughter, Terry (Bill) Herzog, of Shawnee Hills, OH; son, David (Jackie Fries) Klein, of Huron; grandchildren, Mike (Megan Burwinkel) Klein of Fort Collins, Colorado, Alex Klein (Julia Calderon) of Columbus, OH; and a brother, Don Denton of Westerville, OH.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Klein; parents, Harold and Helen (Chenoweth) Denton; and a brother, Robert Denton.
A private family service will be held and entombment will be at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
