John D. Wasily

John D. Wasily, 84, of Huron, passed away on September 19, 2023, at Countryside Manor in Fremont, OH.

John was born on November 20, 1938, in Mansfield, OH to Frank and Beatrice (Howe) Wasily. He was a graduate of Huron High School and spent his life working at Norfolk Southern. John loved watching track meets at Huron HS, hunting, and fishing.

He is survived by his daughter, Anna Wasily of Rittman, OH; sons, John P. Wasily (Shannon) of Huron and Michael (Julie) Krause of FL; grandchildren, Emily Myers, Devon Shaffer, Austin Wasily, Trevor Stiles, and Joel, Teddy, and Brian Krause; several great grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Wasily and Jeannie Brown; and a brother, Tom Wasily.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Frank Wasily. 

Friends and family may call on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, from 10 – 11 AM at St. Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main St., Huron 44839 with a Mass to follow. Burial will follow at McMillen Cemetery, 816 River Rd., Huron.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to ProMedica Hospice, 907 W. State St., Fremont, OH 43420.
