Joan Leimeister

Joan E. Leimeister, of Huron, passed away on April 27, 2026.

She was born on December 3, 1940, in Norwalk Township, on her parents’ wedding anniversary. Joan was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Huron. Having lived on a farm for most of her life, she took great joy in raising many kinds of animals.

The highlight of Joan’s life was her 55-year marriage to her husband, Frank, and raising their three sons. She was employed at Huron High School and at The Invention Restaurant in Milan.

Joan is survived by her three sons, Christopher (Lisa), Adam (Charlene), and Wade (Tracy); as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Theresa Bailey of Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her parents, Ira and Evelyn Welch; her brother, Arthur Welch; and her sisters, Jane Stump, Ruth Dehner, and Lorena Catlin.

Cremation will take place, and Foster Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. A Mass at St. Peter Catholic Church will be held on May 22, 2026 at 10:30am. Online condolences can be made at www.fosterfh.com
