Jerry M. Nolan, age 74, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025.
A man known for his kindness, humor, and curious spirit, Jerry was an avid classic car enthusiast who found joy in car shows and rebuilding hot rods. One of his proudest accomplishments was having one of his custom vehicles featured in Street Rodder magazine in July 1978. His love for cars was only matched by his love for family, picking on his guitar, French fries, cookies, and a good political debate.
Jerry embraced life with an open heart and an open mind. He held a black belt in karate, was a creative inventor with multiple patents from his time at Vandresser, and retired as an electrician from Ford in July 2021. His recent curiosity about sovereignty reflected his ever-questioning, ever-learning nature.
He was a devoted husband to his wife, Christine Nolan, and a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his children: Michelle (Tom) Giles, John (Gina) Nolan, Joe (Trisha) Nolan, Keith (Monica) Wright, Matt Mechling, Katy Mechling, Jenn (Jon) Pierson, and Christopher Mechling; his beloved dog, Morgan; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brothers: Randall (Diane) Nolan, Dexter (Kathy) Nolan, and Dale (Denise) Nolan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Sabra Nolan, and his brothers, Terry Nolan and Lindy Joe Nolan.
Jerry had a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life. He truly appreciated different personalities, and whether you were discussing cars, music, or politics, he made you feel heard. His legacy lives on in the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the engine revs that echo through memory.
