Jean Howard

Jean Davis Howard, 90, of Huron, Ohio, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Firelands Regional Medical Center. Born on July 7, 1935, Jean was a lifelong resident of Huron and cherished member of her community.

She is survived by her son, Jeff (Angela) Howard; her daughter, Jan (Bill) Simsa; her grandchildren, Shannon Howard, Nathan Simsa, and Zachary Simsa; and her great-grandchildren, Makenna Conley, Rayne Simsa, Talon Simsa, Ezra Simsa, and Ryleigh Simsa.

Jean is also survived by her nieces, Cindy (Chip) Burrel, Susan (Albert) Asebrook, Beth Detrich, and Tena (Jeff) Pace; and her nephew, Dan (Diane) Detrich.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sidney Howard; her mother, Gladys “Wahlers” Parman; her fathers, Ray Parman and Jay Davis; her sister, Janet Detrich; brother-in-law, Earl Detrich; and brother, John Raymond Parman.

In accordance with Jean’s wishes, cremation has taken place. No services will be held at this time, and a private burial will take place at Scott Cemetery. A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
