James (Jim) Jolly Obituary

James (Jim) R. Jolly, 73, residing in Bellevue, passed away on September 6, 2024, in his home after a sudden and brave battle with cancer.

Born on May 5, 1951, in Paris, Kentucky, to Clifton Jolly and Mamie Lewis, Jim graduated from Sandusky High School in 1969 and served in the Army National Guard from 1969 to 1975. He worked at Cedar Point, Foodland, and Foster Grant in his younger years, and spent 30 years at General Motors, working at the Sandusky New Departure and Mansfield Fabricating plants before retiring in 2008.

Jim enjoyed hunting, muscle cars from the 60s and 70s, and both dirt track and asphalt car racing. He was also passionate about fishing and boating on the Great Lakes, rivers, and ponds, and traveled to fish in many other states and Canada. Jim was an active member of the Bass Fishing Club in Sandusky and the W.R. Hunt Club in Clyde.

Surviving to share Jim's memories are his loving wife of 51 years, Kathy; two wonderful children, James T. Jolly (Sabrina) and Gina Jolly; brothers, Ronald Jolly (Patricia) and Joseph Jolly (Tanya); step-brother, William Caskey (Darrell); four loving grandchildren, Jayden Cartinian, Jenna Jolly, Janelle Jolly, and Evan Jolly; aunt, Anna King; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as his fur buddies, D'jango, Hildie, and Tripp.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Arlene Caskey Jolly; sister, Dianna Nelson Michaels; and uncle, Paul King.

Arrangements will be announced at a later date.
