HURON – James “Jim” Jones, 81, of Huron, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Metro Health, Cleveland, after a brief illness.
He retired from the Ford Motor Co in 1996 after 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Emma Jean (Hatfield) Jones, of 52 years, living in New London; a son, James Russell Cline of Huron; grandchildren, Michael, Ashley, and Tiffany; great-grandchildren, Allissa, Addison, Austin, Alex, Ashton, Brody, and Benson.
He enjoyed metal detecting, coin collecting, building model planes and cars, hunting, fishing, camping and family cook-outs. He always looked forward to attending the Emmett Community Reunion to meet up with his childhood friends where he grew up in Elk Creek, WV.
He was a quiet, peaceful and hard-working man who was kind to animals and always did right by others and would go out of his way to help a neighbor or stranger alike. No one gave him metals, and the world didn’t know his name, but in our eyes he’s a hero just the same.
An Annual Memorial BBQ and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Donations may be made to the Humane Society of Erie County, 1911 Superior St, Sandusky, 44870.
