HURON - James D Jenkins, Sr., 86, went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2021. He passed away peacefully at Stein Hospice, Sandusky.
James was born on June 18, 1934 in Magoffin County, Kentucky.
James’ Christian faith was central to his life. His kind soul and giving spirit touched so many and will never be forgotten by those who knew him. James retired from Starr Ranch in 1997. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening and watching sports.
James was blessed with a loving family and he is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lena; four children: Connie (Bob) Hemchak of Lagrange, OH, Carol (Don) Edwards of Powell, OH, James, Jr. (Donna) of Norwalk, OH, and Lois (Scott) Thompson of Huron; five grandchildren, Tony, Kristin, Nicole, Cody and Trevor; and eight great-grandchildren, Keegan, Gavin, Lincoln, Kennedy, Jackson, Rosalie, Amari and Carsyn.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Ben Ed and Mae Jenkins, siblings Hollie, Ethel, Paul, Earl, Junior and several nieces and nephews.
A private service was held on January 11, 2021 at Foster Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Scott Cemetery, Huron.
