Francis "Toot" Bennett

Francis (Toot) Bennett, 87, of Huron, passed away on March 2, 2022.

Francis was born on December 8, 1934 to Franklin and Rosella (Litzinger) Bennett in Altoona, PA. He moved to Ohio in the late 50's and was a Huron resident most of his life. He was employed at Sandusky Dressed Beef for many years. He loved making crafts out of wood and was very talented at woodworking, painting, and drawing. He was an avid golfer, pool player, poker player, bowler, and loved doing yard work. His quick, witty sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Carol (Nowakowski) Bennett; daughters, Diane Bennett and Linda (James) Geary; son, Dan (Kris) Bennett; grandchildren, Patrick, Ronnie, Amanda, Jeremy, Gregory, Kristi, and Kevin; 11 great grandchildren; and brothers, Raymond and Lester Bennett.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary (Goretzki) Bennett in 1993; brothers, Albert and Robert Bennett; and sister, Bernice.  

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main St., Huron 44839 from 9:30 AM until time of mass at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, 2602 Bogart Rd., Huron 44839.
