Frann C. Ringlein (Westerhold), 92, of Huron, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022 after a brief illness.
Frann was born in Cleveland, OH in 1930 and moved to Huron in 1945. She attended Huron High School for two years and then graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1948. She and her husband, Leo, built their home on Forest Hills Dr. where she resided for 61 years before moving in 2016 to the Commons Independent Living Facility in Sandusky.
Frann began her working career in 1964 as second cook in St. Peter’s School Cafeteria. She then worked for the Erie County Reporter and the American Automobile Association in Sandusky where she became a licensed Insurance Agent. She then went to work as a Claims Processor at Underwriters Adjusting Company in Sandusky retiring in 1984. She was involved with many volunteer activities at St. Peter Catholic Church and School. She was a devoted member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society for over 30 years. She enjoyed knitting, reading, watching Netflix, and spending time on the computer. These were her favorite pastimes when she wasn’t going somewhere on a Cruise.
She is survived by five sons, Edd (Noreen), Paul (Kathy), John (Jean), Jim (Denise), and Tom (Barb); one daughter, Mary; 12 grandchildren, Luke, Justin and Paul children of Edd and Noreen, Erica (Ponte) Nicholas, and Jack children of Paul and Kathy, Michael son of Jim and Denise, Theresa Dunigan and Anthony Jones children of Mary, and Jonathan, Joseph, and Jacquelyn children of Tom and Barb; 14 great grandchildren, Grant, Maggie, and Lillian Ponte, Andrew Clare and Emma Dunigan, Jayden and Grayson Ringlein, Jack and Ben Ringlein, Finn and Rhea Ringlein, June Ringlein, and Lyla Melgarejo.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Viola (Frick) Westerhold; her husband to whom she was married for 45 years, Leo; son, Mark; two brothers, Robert and Ted Westerhold; and two sisters, Ruth (Riley) and Mary (Masten).
Friends and family may call on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 11 AM - 12 PM at St. Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main St., Huron 44839. A Funeral Mass will follow visitation.
