Elizabeth May Rinehart

Elizabeth “Betty” May Rinehart (nee Guay) was called home by the Lord on Sunday, February 27, 2022, after a brief illness. Betty was born on May 8, 1931, in Wells River, VT, to Otis and Mable Guay. She graduated from Wells River School and after some time married Carroll H. Rinehart, started a family and moved to Bristol CT, where she worked for General Electric Co. In 1968 she moved to Bay View, OH, retiring after a career at GM New Departure, Sandusky. She was also known as a “snowbird” who enjoyed winters in Ft. Myers, FL. She is survived by a large, extended family; including son Wayne Guay (Joyce) of Bowling Green, KY; daughter Cynthia McLean (Mac) of Grove, OK; son Scott Rinehart (Mona) of Huron, OH; and son Vince Rinehart (Lynn) of Toledo, OH; grandson Christopher Guay (Crystal) and granddaughter Bryde Reece (Chris) in GA; grandsons JW (Becca) and Scott Corbett in OK; granddaughter Laura Bouziden in NC; grandson Corey Rinehart (Missy) and granddaughter Malisa Rinehart of Huron, OH; granddaughter Michelle Mahs of Amherst, OH, grandson Keith Lyons (Jen) in GA, grandson Nicholas and granddaughter Makenna, of Toledo, OH; eighteen great- and 2 great- greatgrandchildren; and long-time friend and companion Richard Zura. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband Carroll H. Rinehart of Bay View, and three sisters, Evelyn Anctil and Elaine Davidson of NH, and Eleanor Stockman of FL. A memorial service and burial of ashes in the family cemetery will be held at a later date in Woodsville, NH.
