Edwin K. Kern

HURON – Edwin K. Kern, 89, of Huron and formerly of Lorain, passed away at his home Sunday, January 17, 2021.

   He was born February 14, 1931 in Lorain and graduated from Lorain HS in 1948.  He worked for US Steel Company in Lorain for 38 years as a Supervisor of Fuel and Power.

   He was a US Navy Veteran and served during the Korean Conflict.

   He was a member of the Christian Temple Disciple of Christ Church in Lorain.  After retiring from the steel company Edwin worked at Joni’s Petal Shop in Lorain for several years.

   He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline (Robb), married to for many wonderful years; his daughter, Leonna (Gerald) Duff of Stony Brook, NY; a son, James (Renee`) Kern of Safety Harbor, FL; and two grandchildren, Harrison and Mariel.

   He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Freda (Diedrick) Kern.

   A private graveside service will be held at Scott Cemetery, Huron.

  A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
