HURON - Edna Marie McCoy, 86, of Huron, died peacefully Monday July 13, 2020 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio.
She was born in Dickenson County Virginia, to the late Pearl and Clinton Edwards.
“Marie” as everyone knew her by, worked many jobs during her lifetime. The one that meant the most to her was her time at the Berlin Rd Shell gas station. During that time she met many fascinating people and touched many lives.
Marie enjoyed spending hours in her garden, growing and canning her vegetables and spending time with family and taking care of them always. Resident of Huron since the late 50’s and raised her four children in the same residence in Old Homestead. She was like a mom to many of her children’s friends and also to the people she worked with at the Berlin Rd Shell station in the 80’s and 90’s. She would constantly rave about the Huron Police and fire departments as she was proud of having such great people serve her community. To all that knew her would say she was a very outspoken nice lady that loved her family above all else.
Marie leaves behind her four children, Randall McCoy of Huron, Linda (Jerry) Grove of Beavercreek Ohio, Ronald McCoy of Asheville, North Carolina, and Yvonne (Kevin) Kiser of Sandusky Ohio; her grandchildren, Chris McCoy, Shad McCoy, Lisa Hivnor, Jen Clark, Tim Grove, Jaime Buckingham-Grove, Dakota McCoy, Amy McCoy, Jordan Kiser, Emily Kiser and Megan Kiser; twelve great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; her two brothers, Wilmer Edwards and Harold Edwards; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Pearl Edwards; her brother, Maurice Edwards; her sister, Ethylene Minton; her nephew, Shawn Edwards; and her sister in-law, Renada Edwards.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday July 16 at Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main St. Huron. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 17 followed by burial at Scott Cemetery, Huron-Avery Rd Huron.
