Douglas Tate Obituary

Douglas Tate, 92, of Huron, passed away on May 20, 2024.

Douglas was born on April 28, 1932, to the late John and Lola Tate. He was a devoted husband and father, an expert craftsman, and a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean War with the 452nd Bomb Wing. After his service, Douglas worked as a truck driver for Yellow Freight Systems for 31 years before retiring. He was an avid boater and NASCAR fan throughout his life, as well as a lifetime NRA member, and member of the VFW.

He is survived by his daughter, Gayle Tate of Huron; son, Jeffrey Tate of Grove City; and brother, Roger (Marilyn) Tate of High Point, NC.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Betty L. Tate, and his siblings Sylvia Tate and Sharon Smith.

Per his request, there will be no funeral services.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Stein Hospice for their compassionate care during this difficult time.
