Dolores (Dee) E. Hartley, 83, of Huron, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 22, 2025.
A lifelong resident of Huron, Dee was a devoted member of the Huron United Methodist Church for 69 years. Her faith and service to her community were central to her life. She owned and operated the Huron H&R Block for 50 years, where she was known for her professionalism, warmth, and dedication to helping others.
Dee was an active member of several local organizations including the Huron Historical Society, the Firelands Postcard Club, the Huron Rotary, and the Huron Chamber of Commerce. She cherished her time with the “Class of 1959 Card Club,” a cherished tradition held once a month for 65 years with lifelong friends.
She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Hartley; her son, Robert Bruns; her brother, David (Judy) Wilber; her sister, Rebecca (Chris) Harlan; and numerous nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Burdette and Barbara Wilber; her son, Richard Bruns; and her sister, Janet Wilber.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Huron United Methodist Church, with a funeral service to follow. Burial will take place at Meadow Green Cemetery
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Huron United Methodist Church or the Huron Rescue Squad.
