Dawn Marie Yount

HURON – Dawn Marie Yount, 49, formerly of Huron, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky.

   She was born January 11, 1972 in Sandusky and was raised in Huron and graduated from Huron High School in 1990.  She then graduated from The Ohio State University in 1995.  For 13 years she taught children English, overseas in Taiwan and Australia.  She then attended law school at Case Western Reserve and graduated in 2017.  She currently worked for Trustpoint One Firm in Cleveland for the past 4 years.

  She was a member of the Huron Eagles Auxiliary and the Ohio Bar Association.  She enjoyed Cross Stitching and was an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan.

   She is survived by her mother and step-father, Donna and Barry “Buck” Wilson of Huron; her step-mother, Deb Yount of Maumee; a step-sister, Amy (Dane Thomas) Petersen of Huron; brother, Jeremy ”Jay” (Amanda) Yount of Huron, and step-brother, Todd Wilson of Norwalk; uncles, Ron and Kay Gilbert of Huron, David and Peggy Gilbert of Berlin Heights, John Gilbert of Huron, Bill and Heide Gilbert of Huron; and aunt, Pati (Brad) Taylor of Huron; 5 nephews and 3 nieces and several cousins.

    She is preceded in death by her father, Roger Yount; grandparents, Carroll and Donna Yount, and Ellsworth and Jeanne Gilbert.

   Friends may call Sunday, March 14th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main St., Huron.  Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 15th at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Chaplain Mel Sayler, officiating.
