Dale Lyn Kessler, 61, of Huron, passed away peacefully at home on November 4, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer.
Dale was born on September 4, 1961, to Maurice and Louise Kessler of Huron. He attended St. Peter’s grade school, Huron City Schools, and Ehove.
He lived in Huron most of his life, except for a few years in the early 1980’s, when he lived in Texas working on oil rigs. Dale worked many jobs locally, starting at Enderle’s grocery store, then moving to Sohio, Providence Hospital, Hy-Miler, and finally he was self-employed doing construction until cancer struck him in spring of 2022. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, animals, and made annual trips to Max’s Water Dog races around Labor Day weekend with his close friends. He also enjoyed time with friends and family. His greatest treasure, however, was his daughter, Lillian Dale Kessler who he loved and adored from the day she was born. He enjoyed watching her grow up and did all he could to be a good father to her. He adopted her half-brother, Vreeland, when he was very young so that he would have a father figure in his life. He also helped raise Lillian’s sisters Chery, Stephanie, and Elise when he was living with Lilly’s mother.
Dale is survived by his daughter, Lillian Dale Kessler; stepson, Vreeland; brothers, Ron (Janet), Mike (Eunice), Carl (Karen), Charles (Mary), and William Kessler; as well as a sister, Anita (Dan) Nye. He leaves many close friends and family to cherish his memory, and his dog, Tootsie.
He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
At Dale’s request, he will be cremated.
A celebration of life for family and friends will be announced at a later date.
