Charles "Chuck" L. Knight

BERLIN TWP – Charles “Chuck” Knight, 70, of Berlin Heights, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday March 21, 2021 at Firelands Regional Medical Center.  

   Chuck was born in Sandusky on May 16,1950 to William Knight and Neva Jane (Howells) Knight and lived on the Knight Family Farm in Berlin Township.  He attended Berlin Heights schools until the merger with Milan and graduated in 1968 from Huron High School.  He attended Dana College until he was drafted by the military.  He proudly served in the US Marine Corps.  He married Denise Sholette in 1973 and began working for the United States Post Office in Huron.  He attended the Firelands Branch of BGSU and graduated in 1978 with a degree in Education.  

   Chuck had a successful career as a salesman and as an independent contractor until he retired in 2015.  He was a very active member of the American Legion of Berlin Heights.  He enjoyed working his small farm and during his retirement he loved his many train travels throughout the United States and Europe.  He took several trips to his favorite country Iceland, enjoying his last trip there with his children!  

   He is survived by his wife Denise (Sholette) Knight; his daughter, Andrea Knight, of Wharton, Ohio; his son, Seth Knight of Milan, Italy; brothers, Roger and John and his sister Nancy Coughlan along with many nieces and nephews.  

   There will be a graveside service with military honors at 11AM on Saturday , March 27 at Oak Bluff Cemetery in Berlin Township.  Social distancing guidelines are to be observed.
