Bruce Dunkle

Bruce Maynard Dunkle, 80, residing in Huron, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. Born on July 26, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio, Bruce was the beloved son of the late Harley and Isabel Dunkle. He graduated from Cloverleaf High School where he excelled in baseball and band.

Bruce was deeply involved in his community, actively participating in the Huron Eagles Club and making daily visits to his favorite local donut shop. He served his country in the National Guard and shared a passion for fishing, often enjoying the waters of Lake Erie aboard a boat with his brother, Maynard Dunkle. An enthusiastic bowler and golfer, Bruce cherished his time at Myrtle Beach so much that he purchased a condo there, which remains a cherished retreat for his family. A dedicated collector of model trains, Bruce also found joy in mentoring apprentices who shared his love for trains. He was a loyal fan of the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Guardians, proudly belonging to the local Browns Backers club. Bruce had an incredible storytelling talent and would capture the room with his stories. He also loved to make people laugh and it was rare to be in a room with him and not be laughing with him.

Bruce is survived by his son, Joseph Bruce Dunkle; daughter-in-law, Carmen Dunkle; his grandson, Alejandro Dunkle; loving brother, Maynard Bruce Dunkle; brother, Sidney Dunkle of Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Kay (Mel) Glover of Middlefield Ohio; and nephew, Cory (Suman) Glover and their son, Nick Glover.

Cremation has taken place, and the family will have private services.
