Brett A Collins

Brett Alan Collins, 67, of Huron, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family on August 3, 2022.

He was born on August 1, 1955, in Sandusky, Ohio to the late Howard and Virginia (nee Ehrhardt) Collins. Brett worked at New Departure Hyatt/Delphi for 31 years and proudly served the UAW 913 as a union rep for 12 years. He was active in OHSAA football, the treasurer of the Huron baseball program, and president of Little League. As an avid boater and traveler, Brett lived life to the fullest. His pride and joy were his grandchildren, and Papa never missed a sporting event, an extracurricular activity, a report card, or an opportunity to spend time with them. His personality was magnetic, and he brought laughter and an unmatched charisma wherever he went.

Brett was a devoted husband of 47 years to Donna (nee Jones); loving father to Bryce A. (Michele), Bryan P., and Patrick L. (Janelle); dearest Papa to Evan, Madeline, Mackenzie, Tatum, Austin, and Lila Collins; loyal brother of Howard L. (Carol), Kenneth (Jill), and the late Teresa (Dave) Painter; and friend to many.

Friends and family may call on Saturday August 6, 2022, from 1 – 2 PM at The Culinary Vegetable Institute, 12304 State Rt. 13, Milan 44846. A celebration of life service will follow visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family in hopes to honor his memory with a bench at Faben’s Park.
