Barbara Ann (Walby) Strayer

Barbara Ann (Walby) Strayer, age 84, a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara was born on November 23, 1941. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Margaret (Lesko) Walby; her brother, David Walby; her sister, Ruthanne (Walby) Blevins; and her parents-in-law, Darrel and Cora (Schuh) Strayer.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Kenneth Strayer; her brother, Mike (Karen) Walby of Clearwater, Florida; her son, Brian (Kristie "King") Strayer of Willard; her grandchildren, Austin Strayer of Gahanna, Alyssa Strayer of Willard, and Joey Strayer of Sandusky; and her cherished great-grandson, Jaxson Cantu.

Barbara graduated from Lakeside High School in 1959 and earned her nursing degree from Providence School of Nursing in 1961. She dedicated 38 years of compassionate service as a registered nurse before retiring in 1999.

She was a proud member of American Legion Post 275 in Dunedin, Florida, and the American Legion Riders Post 275. Barbara found joy in bowling, reading, spending time with her family, and riding motorcycles alongside her husband, Ken. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family will be remembered by all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, followed by a graveside service at Meadow Green Cemetery.
