HURON - Lois Arleen Coleman
Lois Arleen (Cuppy) Coleman, age 87 of Huron, passed away peacefully Friday, May 28, 2021 at home.
She was born in Richland County, Ohio and was a graduate of Savannah High School.
She married Howard Coleman on August 30, 1952. They enjoyed camping, square dancing and held season tickets to the Ohio State Buckeye football games for many years until his death in 1984.
Arleen was a school bus driver for Huron City Schools. She later retired as a secretary for the Huron County Extension Office and was an honorary 4-H member for life. She attended the Huron United Methodist Church and also the Shenandoah Christian Church.
She enjoyed reading, sewing quilts, crocheting and showing her 1931 Model A Ford. She was a former member and officer in Car Coddlers, receiving the Sam Teel Meritorious Award in 2007.
She is survived by her children, Sharon (Bruce Jensen) Bartzen, Sue (Greg) Frankart, Dan (Patti) Coleman and Debbie (Danny) Tolles; son-in-law Greg Bartzen; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-granddaughters; step-brothers Dean (Ann) Rader and Carl (Grace) Rader; sister-in-laws Marlene Cuppy, Joyce (Howard) Burwell and Lynn Rader; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, C. Carl Cuppy and Frances (Chet) Rader; an infant daughter, Julie Ann Coleman; a granddaughter Stephanie Bartzen Smith; a great-great grandson, Howard Ray Bartzen; a brother Howard Cuppy; step-brothers, Edward and Kenneth Rader; in-laws Dorothy (Kenny) Fox, Betty (Jack) Lucas, Phyllis (Herb) Ball and Janice Coleman.
Visitation will be held on Thursday June 3rd from 9 until the funeral at 11 at the Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main St, Huron. Pastor Pamela Sayre from the Huron United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at the Steuben Cemetery in Steuben, Ohio.
