HURON – Angela (Dolly) Carol Martello (nee Consolo), 99, of Huron, passed away Monday, July 8, 2019 at her residence. She was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore “Sam” Martello; mother of Carlo L. (Kimberly) Martello; grandmother of Julia Angela, Lauren Kimberly, and Anna Elizabeth Martello, aunt to many nieces and nephews; preceded in death by her cherished brothers and sisters, Rose Marie Santalucia, Lucy (Carmelo) Consolo, Carmelo F. Consolo; Benjamin (Eristea) Consolo, Margaret Consolo, Mary Blandino, James (Johanna) Consolo, and mother and father Rosalia (Giamo) and Vincenzio Consolo.
Dolly spent her early life working at the family grocery store in Cleveland. In 1959 she traveled to S’Agata, Sicily to visit family where she met and married her husband of 58 years, Salvatore Martello and returned with him to Rocky River, in 1963. Together they opened Marconi’s Restaurant and moved to Huron, where they operated the restaurant with her family.
She enjoyed traveling the world, vacationing with her Sicilian side of her family at their home in S’Agata. She spent her later years adoring her grandchildren, nieces, nephews and family pets.
Friends may call Wednesday, July 17th 10:30 until time of Mass at Noon at St. Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main Street, Huron with Rev. Jeffrey McBeth officiating.
Private family entombment will take place at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
