Andrew (Andy) Garrick, age 74, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 21, 2023. He was surrounded by love until the very end.
Andy was first and foremost a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Family was everything to him. Born in New Brunswick, NJ the youngest of three, he ventured to Ohio to attend the University of Dayton where he met his wife of 52 years, Mickie. Andy obtained his Master of Education from Kent State University where he started a long and fulfilling career as a high school principal.
Andy lived a big life full of activities and adventure. An avid fisherman and hunting enthusiast, he spent many hours in a tree or bringing in at least 90 fish!! He loved spending time with his wife and in retirement they spent many hours cruising and exploring the world. Margaritas in Mexico were a must!! When relaxing at home, he could be heard telling Alexa to play his favorite songs that he sang his heart out to.
Andy passed his love of Seaside Heights, NJ onto his entire family where many memories were made. Sandwiches on the beach, the Park Bakery for crumb buns, boardwalk games, and pizza, but mostly a lifetime of memories. His family will continue to honor his memory as these traditions are carried on.
He is survived by his wife, Mickie (Yano) Garrick; son, David (Stacie) Garrick; daughter, Katie (Kevin) Potoczak; grandchildren, Michael, Addalyn, Caleb, as well as Emily and Andrew; and sister, Nina (Ray) Bobrowski as well as Holli Garrick. His beloved cat Olive Pittapat, Pop Pop’s Kitty Cat aka Fraidy Cat will miss him dearly.
He was proceeded in death by his sister, Marie (Brian) Deegan, and his parents, Catherine and Andrew Garrick.
