Patrick F. Steinmetz

HURON – Patrick F. Steinmetz, 59, of Huron, passed away at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sunday, August 26, 2018.

   He was born May 31, 1959 in Sandusky and was a lifelong resident of Huron.  He graduated from Huron High School in 1977.  He worked for Berlin Fruit Basket of Berlin Hts, and then Sandusky Abrasives.

   He enjoyed reading history books and was a patriotic person sharing strong conservative values.  He was a caregiver and father to his daughters and other family and friends.  His friends will miss him from the neighborhood.  He was a Johnny Cash fan and enjoyed his music.

   He is survived by his wife, Julie (Bilton) Steinmetz, married to for 31 years; his daughters, Erica Nickelson of Sandusky, Kate and Lisa Steinmetz, at home; a son, Benjamin Steinmetz of Huron; 4 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Susan Steinmetz of Sandusky and Brigid Steinmetz of Huron; 8 brothers, Stephen (Candy) Steinmetz of Sandusky, Thomas (Jill), Christopher, Ted, Jon, Brian (JoAnn), Vincent, and James (Candi) Steinmetz all of Huron; several nieces and nephews, and a special cousin, Gary Steinmetz of Huron.

   He is preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Carol (Cronk) Steinmetz; a sister, Jennifer Lynn Schenk; and a brother, William Jude in infancy.

   Friends may call Thursday, August 30th from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main Street, Huron were services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. with Chaplain Rebecca Hilton, officiating.

   Cremation will take place.  

   Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
