HURON – Margaret “Peggy” Schenk, 86, of Huron, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky.
She was born December 9, 1932 in Sandusky and was a life long resident of the area.
She worked in her younger years at Good Samaritan Hospital, Firelands Hospital, Sandusky, as a financial counselor for 30 plus years retiring in 1991.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Huron; the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, Milan; and the Huron Eagles. She enjoyed vacationing and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, Richard “Dick”, of Huron; two daughters, Connie Carruthers of Sandusky and Denise Flugga of Milan; son, Richard (Bonnie) Carruthers of Sandusky; and stepsons, Richard and Glenn Schenk of Huron; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Margaret (Fisher) Jamison; three brothers, Robert, Donald, and David Jamison; a son, John R. Carruthers; and first husband, John H. Carruthers.
Friends may call Tuesday, January 8th, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main Street, Huron.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 9th at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 930 Main Street, Huron, with Rev. Kris Schroeder officiating.
Burial will be at Scott Cemetery, Huron.
