Louanna M Tippie

BELLEVUE- Louanna M. Tippie (formerly of Huron), 92, passed away at her home September 1, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 21, 1927, in Sandusky, to Marion Fry.
   She married the love of her life, Walter Tippie Jr., on April 22, 1946. They were blessed with five children, Darlene (Leon) Pitzer of Sandusky, Cheryl (Randy) Bledsoe of Huron,  Claude Tippie of Bellevue, Walter (Lisa) Tippie of Bellevue, and James (Bette) Tippie of Clyde.
   Tip, as she was called by many, was a hard-working, independent, single mother of five, sometimes hell raising kids. When the love of her life passed in 1968 she knew that she had to work hard to support her family. It was at that time that she began working for New Departure (GM) in Sandusky. She worked there as an assembler until her retirement in 1989.
   Louanna was not only a mother to five, but a grandmother to 12, a great-grandmother to 16, and a great-great grandmother to 3. She adored all of her grandkids and was proud to tell anyone that would listen about them. She was a feisty, tiny (85 lbs.) grandma that still lived on her own, mowed her own grass, cleaned her own house, and took care of her beloved dog, Cho Cho. She would still kick up her heels at weddings, listen to her country music, and watch her favorite tv shows.
   She was loved by everyone for her kindness and generosity. She would choose to go without, if it meant that she was helping someone else. Her personality was the best and she instilled it many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. If she didn’t like you because you were acting in a way that she didn’t approve of, by god you would know it. If you wore your shoes in the house, you had better watch out because she would kick your ass. If you talked back, you got the wooden paddle, the flyswatter, or whatever else she could find to spank you with! But truly, she was one of a kind and so loved.
    Friends may call Thursday, Sept 5th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main Street, Huron.  Funeral services will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Father Jeffrey McBeth officiating.   
   Burial will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
